STORY BEHIND THE SONG
"Courage, dear heart," and the voice, she felt sure, was Aslan's, and with the voice a delicious smell breathed in her face.’ (CS Lewis, ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’)
The fears and brokenness of the world weigh so heavily on our children’s shoulders. We see it more and more. But we know there is one voice who can calm the storm and breathe courage into a fearful heart.
It is a relief to point our children to the Savior. His truth remains unbreakable. The earth is the Lord’s and everything within. He carries our griefs and takes up our sorrows at the cross. He walks beside us and leads us in His life-giving path. He is our confidence and courage.
We hope this new children’s hymn sings Christ’s message of peace into anxious little hearts. It closes with the voices of Joni Tada, who has served God from a wheelchair for over fifty years, and six year old Tahlia - every age and season needs the comfort of the Lord!
‘’And now, little children, abide in him…’
(1 John 3v28)
LYRICS
When my heart is filled with fear
Like a stormy sky
Jesus says “be not afraid”
He is at my side
Chorus
There’s a rock where I can go
Keeps me safe and this I know
Deep within my troubled soul
Jesus calms the storm
When my thoughts are tossed and turned
Like a raging sea
I will listen to His voice
He will comfort me
Chorus
When I feel the shame of sin
Like a crashing wave
My Redeemer rescues me
By His grace I’m saved
Chorus
He who rules the wind and waves
Soon will come again
Oh take courage little heart
Every storm will end
Chorus (x2)

They returned to Northern Ireland for a year during Covid and followed up with the Dove-award winning children’s album “Hymns from Home”, and made guest artist appearances on Getty #1 Billboard album “Evensong” (even knocking their beloved “Frozen” off the #1 spot on children’s Billboard after 41 weeks, for one week!) and the Grammy nominated album “Confessio”.
Since returning to America they have begun to perform on tours with their family, both singing and playing at venues including Carnegie Hall, Ryman Auditorium, and a first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.
